TERROR NEATH THE TAY!

Next Saturday the 7th of November I've been invited to the Premier of TERROR NEATH THE TAY! This is the horror movie where you can hear my music on it. The premier will take place in Dundee at 2330pm in an Odeon theater. Apparently there are at least 6 of my instrumental tracks. As soon as I have a copy of the DVD I will try to pass it on to those interested in having a look at it. (or listen it up)

FUTURE PLANS IN LAISSE FAIRE AGENDA

Hello everybody! Im writing just to announce that my personal blog "El Mundo de Enriko" has been removed because wasnt very worthy to write on it for tha absence of interest generated. This one is in fact the only one which Im going to be using from now on to tell about Laisse Faire news. As Laisse Faire Im planning to buy a Workstation and record my favourite songs properly and without mistakes (or as less as It would be possilbe) and also try to find a vocalist for them for the recording sessions. SEVEN D ON TOUR

I'm really glad to announce the concert that my previous band and I are going to play the next 3rd January 2009. We're basicly gonna play old stuff and also some of my new songs although the tracklist is not been made yet. I'm aware that we are planning to play depeche mode, doors and other famous bands covers as usual. So I hope everybody turns up that day I enclose you here with the flyer.

REC

I'm in the phase of the recording ok my new tracks. I'm quite enjoying this time because two of my female friends helped me with their voices in my second song "The boos". Both girls are great but I found that one of them is also creative and she helped me to find which melody was better for my tune. If they want to help me again I would be grateful cause I think my music needs another voice. do you agree with me??

ThE ColDesT sUmmEr EvEr

Hello everybody! I'm just writing to announce the release of my new album The "Coldest Summer Ever". After a short time of being lazy producing new songs, I've started to record a few covers and after that some ideas came up and I'm on my way of making my 6th album as Laisse Faire.

I'm trying to make it different using different equipment to change a bit the sounds. I also want to create a happier atmosphere than in my previous work.

Katherine and Doe

That's the title of my new release. I've been recording some tracks since I finished Childhood trying to keep the old Laisse Faire sound rather than continue with the computers. I wanted to make more commercial music but at the moment the songs I've recorded are even odder than my previous ones. Sampling

Since I started to play the keyboard in 1996 I have an interest of learning how could I sampler the sounds into the keyboard and now I'm learning that in my classes. It's quite good fun and also useful in the music world. You can record all the sounds you ever dream into the sampler and listening to them through the keyboard in all the different keys. The program that can do that is Reason and the samplers are called NN-19 and NN-XT and despite they are quite complicate to use at the beginning if you control them they are very very nice for making music. I'll tell you more about them when I knew how to use them perfectly.

MAD WORLD TOUR 2007 D

Between the new releases of my new solo project I had time to prepare a concert with my old band Seven-D while I was in Spain. I'd like to thanks everybody who helped us to prepare that event: friends, owners of "El 13" and also the other members of the band. Without them it couldn't have been possible.

We played the old Seven-D stuff plus some of my new songs and also some covers. We played a total of 17 tracks plus and encore. I think I enjoyed the least because the acoustic was poor and we made mistakes but at the end I saw the peole had fun and that was the target of the concert so I think it was a success. This concert also gave me the strenght to think in future gigs with Seven-D. I really enjoy that sweet and sour moment when everybody is looking at you on stage and we are use to play together.
I have to thank Alba(our singer in that concert)because despite she had sore throat she dared to sing for the event. I have to say that she is a friendly girl too.
I'd like to be in Spain to keep in touch with the band and try to play some more gigs but I like being in Edinburgh too so that's a pity. I'll see what I can do in the future.

Hi my friends. I'm working in my new album which name is already decided. CHILDHOOD is going to be called and I've got some tracks.

Why CHILDHOOD?

Because my previous trilogy was based in a human development before being born and now this experiment is in its childhood. I'm obssesed with human developtment and I'm proyecting that to my tracks and songs. With my music I try to communicate different feelings because I'm sure that music can change states of mood. By now I have for about 4 new tracks and you had heard some of them already. Stressing song, Song from the space, Taste in loops and First assessment are the tracks done and these are their titles. This new album is going to be just instrumental because I heard some people opinions and they prefer if I don't sing in the songs. I like to improve myself through these advices so I'm going to be quite by now until I know the new results. The novelty in this new album is that I'm using Reason instead of my MC-303 so the sounds are completaly new and also the mean of recording and mixing my tracks. I think the quality in the sound is much better now. I hope you like and enjoy my new work and I think it will be finish by March of new year.

Join the Dark Side

I had an operation last Monday and so I've been working in some new tracks. I recorded a cover from Tears for Fears "Mad World" and also I recorded an intro for my new release and two new tracks made out of Reason. I want to inform that I'm going to play with my previous band 7D in a place which name is "El 13" in Madrid. The date is still to be confirmed but it's gonna be between December the 21st and January the 7th (D). As soon as I knew the tracklist I'll let you know.

Rehearsal time

Yesterday I was playing music with Darren at his flat. We were playing covers from Oasis, Depeche Mode and fucking Britney Spears which it was very funny.We played some new stuff aswell and we did enjoy quite a lot.

NEW RELEASE

Hello my name is Enrique Escribano and I'm also Laisse Faire. After this long break discovering and practising with the new technology I would like to introduce you my new tracks. Lately I've been working with new software for me. I've finished two new tracks with Reason and I'm very happy with them. "Stressing Song" is the name of my first track and I decided to call it that because if you hear it it's make you stressed. On the other hand the other song is happier and less dark. It has more melodies but the sound is not original. If you like Daft Punk I think you would like this track. It's name is "First Assessment" and I've chosen this name because is gonna be my first assessment in "four track recording" which is one of my subjets.
I don't know how can I convert this tracks into MP3 or wave files but I'll know soon. I also finished a depeche mode cover. "The things you said" but is quite different because is like a dance version.

Reason

Hi guys! I already started the music production technology course and it seem to be very very interesting. Is difficult to me to catch everything because of my english but I'll try to do my best. They are teaching me how to use a music program which name is Reason and at the moment I found it quite useful to make tracks. It's not very difficult to use and you got all you need to record a proper track. You can record a song using the sounds which are provided by the program or also you can play with the synthetiser at real time. They are showing us different cables and the way of plug in all the devices between them. Today they taught us how to use the studio to communicate the musicians with the guy who is going to record and test the sound. You have to remember all the steps if you don't want mistakes during the recording or mixing proccess. I'd try to download some pictures of the place where I'm studying to show you the things I'm using in a future post.

Time to work

Darren came to my flat yesterday and the program now is working sucessfully. There was a problem with the configuration but he fix it. The problem now is that I need a MIDI keyboard because mine is not working. It has MIDI inputs and outputs but is not a MIDI one and the program can't reconigse it. I overheard that I can find a MIDI keyboard for £50 or £60 and to be honest the keyboard I'm using now is untune sometimes so is time to buy a good one to work propertly. Thanks for reading me.

Steinberg Cubasis VST

A friendly guy who possible will play some songs with me in the future borrow me a music program: Steinberg Cubasis VST. How you already know I had some problems with another program which I used to use to record my songs. This program seems to be more complicate and despite I've already read the manual I've not be capable of making a sound with it. I think my problem is the interface or the MIDI software. If you have any idea of how to make music with this program please let me know. I know I'm completely useless but I've never use software before to record my music. Maybe I should give up making music like that. I would ask help to the guy who gave me the program anyway but I was wondering if you could give me some advice. This message is specially to Ghomeztown who is the master of musical software.

LEARNING MUSIC

The technical problems have not been fixed yet. I don't know why I can record my new songs and convert them into mp3 or wav files. Anyway I'm going to start a course of music production technology by the first of September. I want to learn how to play and record my music with sense. I know they are going to teach me synths and samples in the course and also some music programs to mix and record the music. I let you know about the subjets when I have some news. Condemned to be alone

First thing I had to think was the artistic name. That's rather difficult by the way and I had some names in mind: "God Dog", "El mito de Condrias" and any others. In the end I decided to call myself "Laisse Faire". I chost this name because I used to study childcare in Spain and there was a subject in the college where there was a definition of these French words. It means something like "let me do" and I tought it was the name that perfectly fixed with the situacion I was living after leaving 7D.
The thing that really made me start making music on my own was the fact of buying a synthethiser. This gadged opened my mind to another way of making music. My first song was "Padre nuestro en ti no creemos" and despite it was quite repetitive I was very happy with it. My idea at the very begining was making music with some of my friends singing or playing in them. Luis, a friend of mine made the lyric of my second song. It name was "Quise ser mas guapo" and afterwards another friend was trying to make another song which finally resulted being "Relax". My first album was called Amnios and it had 12 songs some of them only instrumental. Here they are with the lyrics:

The story of our name began when someone saw an advert written on an old wall. There was a mistake in the writing and we decided to use this name because of that. Then Chema, bass and photographer of the band took some pictures of us with this wall as a background. I'd like to enclose this picture above this text, but unfortunatly I haven't it so apologise for any inconvinience.
We used to play in Chema's and Karl's house because they had better equipment to record our songs and because they were too lazy to go to my flat with all their stuff. I had to go with my keyboard and an amplifier for Karl's guitar to their house and after a few days we didn't trained enough because of that I think.
Once, we decided to play in a trainning room in the Downtown. We were playing very loud and they included in the price of the room a drum kit and some amplifiers as well. It was good fun but we have not enough songs to play and we were playing some covers. I'd like to come back there but Karl and Chema refused my idea because they tought it was not a good thing because of the money or something like that.
Afterwards we were playing and trainning more until one day we played for some people live music. We played in front of for about 30 or 40 people in a district called Corralejos. We had many mistakes while we were playing, but for me was a fantastic experience. Next year we played in the same place for almost the same people and we supposed to be more prepared than a year before, anyway we had a lot of mistakes too and in my opinion the sound was awful.
After this gig we met even less and we started different studies or jobs so we trained just a little bit.
In the end one girl joined us as a new singer, because Chema wasn't very good. Her name is Clara and she sang quite well.
I think we played together just twice or three times, then I decided to leave the band because I didn't like the atmosphere at all.

A new band had been born

After some days playing in "La Valla", Roberto decided to left playing with us because he really didn't like it. We were three then: Chema (bass), Karl (keyboards and guitar) and myself (keyboard). The beginning was like Chaos. We played music without sense and also we made some covers, specially by Depeche Mode and Doors.
Karl made some songs taking pieces of our disordered songs. We used to record our music sessions and sometimes I used to play the "djembe" into the keyboard. Our first songs as a band were: "terror", "los fantasmas" and "vamos al castillo". I don't know if they were a good songs or crapy ones, but I enjoyed that period of time with those cracy guys going to a big park and playing that songs with our instruments while we were drinking beers and litres of coke (specially Chema).
We began to think what name we could put to our band and some friends were giving us somr advise. I tell you that is not easy to choose a name for a band. We tought thousands of them but any was really reliable. In the end we decided to call our band 7D.

First Steps

Everything began eleven years ago when the three wise men gave me a CASIO-MA130 as a Christmast present.
This keyboard has small keys and to be honest is not the best one, but anyway I was happy and I started playing with it.
By that time I was playing with a guy who were in my same class and my first sort of song was called "Arbul del Gerniku" because this guy who I mentioned before used to say this sentence while I was playing an easy melody.
Afterwards two more guys from my class joined us and we played some songs just for fun.
